2024 Mid-Year Update

I hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather we’ve been lucky enough to have lately! I wanted to take a moment to provide a brief mid-year update of the Wayside’s most recent events and activities!

Board Recognizes State Survey Excellence

Wayside distinguished itself yet again during the State of Ohio’s Department of Developmental Disabilities’ program survey in April. Due to its unprecedented size, scope, and success, the agency’s Board issued this resolution:

It was acknowledged by the Board of Directors of Our Lady of the Wayside their recognition of all Members of the OLW staff contributing to the remarkable achievement of a multi three-year certification from the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.

Fundraising Success

For those of you who attended the Duets event at Gordon Green in June, once again, I would like to thank you for your attendance and support! Nearly 350 old and new friends raised $275,000 for the newly created John Gohlke Fund, which will support the ongoing individual needs of the people Wayside is privileged to support.

Financial Snapshot

The financial position of the agency remains strong. Thus far we’ve hired more than 60 new direct care professionals and will continue our efforts towards filling all open positions throughout the agency and identifying and developing future agency leaders!

Pro Football Hall of Fame Event

Hats off to the entire Pathways Program as more than 150 individuals and staff attended the opening ceremony for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Induction Week.

As always, outings are abundant throughout the agency. Staff enthusiasm is as high as I have seen it in years, and we look forward to finishing the year strong!

Thanks for all you do for Wayside!
